Week 5: Benefits of Google Classroom
Hi everyone! Happy (almost) Halloween!
Today, we will be talking all about
Google Classroom. One of my favorite things about Google Classroom is that it
is so user-friendly. One of our resources this week gave extremely detailed
instructions on how to get started creating your Classroom. I found it
incredibly helpful, especially since in our technology class, we will be creating
our very own Google Classroom! I loved that the resource, not only included
great instructions, but also had a picture showing exactly how to do each step.
I became
fairly familiar with Google Classroom while I was in high school, however, I only ever used it as a student, never a teacher. Personally, I absolutely loved using
Google Classroom. It made life so much easier because I never had to keep track
of a million hand outs or worry about forgetting homework at home (which I was
always guilty of). Another one of our resources mentioned that, as a teacher,
Classroom allows you to be much more organized because all of your different
classes and assignments are all stored in one place. It also mentioned that it
eases the workload on teachers because they no longer have to create an
assignment, print it out, make a ton of copies, and then pass it out to everyone
(knowing that several will end up losing it). Teachers can now create their
assignments on Google Classroom, and with the click of a button, it will be
available for every single student.
Another
aspect that I loved as a student using Google Classroom, that I’m sure I will
love even more using it as a teacher, is the fact that quizzes can be graded
almost instantly. Teachers do not have to individually hand grade each quiz and
students do not have to wait a week to receive their grades. From what I have
seen so far, I think Google Classroom will be a great platform to incorporate
into my future classroom!
Hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!!
